Ministry Support Spotlight: Mission Haiti

One such organization is Mission Haiti, which is committed to providing life-sustaining services to men, women and children throughout the country of Haiti.
The hardest thing to come by in Haiti is stability. But on the rare occasion you find it, it shines brightly through the darkness of political unrest, terrorizing gang activity, and a long history of economic toil.
Mission Haiti stands as one of those rare beacons of stability. Thanks to the Lord, what began as a grassroots effort to provide education and school supplies for children has grown and evolved to humbly meet even more practical needs in the Ti Rivyè community and surrounding areas. Mission Haiti is still diligently educating children, but now it’s also a place where orphans and the elderly find family and Haitians of all ages can access basic emergency medical care.
At the center of Mission Haiti’s work are real people. One of them is Naïka, a teen mom who was unable to find someone to drive her to a hospital when she went into labor. With nowhere else to go for help, she walked to Mission Haiti’s Lanmou San Fin (LSF) Health Center where she was welcomed by Dr. Colon and his team. Ruth, her newborn baby, was delivered safely and now Naïka is receiving support from LSF.
“This was our very first baby in-clinic! We are overcome with joy and brokenness as the mother has no real support and a difficult family life. However, we praise the Lord for this new life and the opportunity Mission Haiti has to come alongside Naïka and Ruth as best we can,” says Bethany Perissien, LSF’s administrative director.
The LSF Health Center, which serves 13,000 patients per year, is an intentional effort by Mission Haiti to change the country’s culture of healthcare. Because healthcare facilities and providers are so limited, they’re overwhelmed by patients, leading to treatment that’s focused on handling high volume over quality care. In addition, Haiti’s medical facilities prioritize patients by their ability to pay for care, leaving even fewer options for those without financial resources.
It’s an effort Kingdom Capital Fund is proud to support. Mission Haiti is not only meeting the everyday needs of children and adults, it’s leading lasting change in the community – a very worthwhile effort indeed.
KCF’s financial support is also funding security services for Mission Haiti’s schools where 2,600 children are educated, fed, and taught the gospel each year. Because of the country’s widespread unrest, even schools are threatened by attack. With security teams in place, children experience a haven where they are more at ease and better able to learn.
