God As CEO Live Event with Steve M. Scheel

As the longtime CEO of SCHEELS, Steve M. Scheel nurtured a company culture focused on developing leaders, creating a strong team environment, and giving back to the community. He made sure that customers and over 12,000 associates felt valued, inspiring them to see SCHEELS as the best in the USA. 

Steve is enjoying his recent retirement after 35 years at SCHEELS, beginning as a part-time shoe stocker and eventually progressing to president and CEO. During his tenure at SCHEELS, the company grew from a small hardware and sporting goods retailer into one of the largest sporting goods stores in the nation with 34 stores in 16 states.

Steve’s care for others and passion for service is rooted in his faith. He enjoys sharing leadership lessons with others in business, and remains active as a board member for several organizations. Steve also fills his time with family adventures, especially spending time on the lake and taking hunting trips together.
