Bringing Hope to Survivors

Chris and Kristen Thorkelson, Marissa's House Campaign Chairs, provide an inside view of the 12-unit apartment complex that supports the recovery of human trafficking survivors.

At Kingdom Capital Fund, we are proud to support organizations that are making a real difference in people's lives through their gospel-centered initiatives. One such organization is Call to Freedom, which provides supportive services for those impacted by human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.

With estimates suggesting that up to 90% of survivors fall through the cracks of society, Call to Freedom's client-centered approach is vital in navigating a healthy path from victim to survivor. Through safe housing, counseling, medical assistance, transportation, and other supportive services, they create a strong network of frontline providers that offer real hope for a better life.

One of their initiatives is Marissa's House, an apartment complex that provides a safe environment for human trafficking survivors and their families. Here, they can receive support and find stability while transitioning out of their trafficking situation. The complex offers fully furnished apartments, counseling, life-coaching, and trauma management, all with the ultimate goal of helping clients transition into productive and self-sufficient members of the community.

Your gifts played a significant role in the construction of Marissa's House, which is currently full and providing safe shelter for 12 survivors and 10 children!
