Generosity Campaign - Stories - Part 2
Collision
Reflecting on the school year, long-time student engagement staff member, Cori Schmaus, recently shared this:
“Every year when school ends, I think back over the year and look at how God has moved. This year has been different but wonderful! One of the privileges I had was to spend time with the students at Roosevelt High School each Wednesday and Friday for lunch. I love these kids so much! We have had deep discussions from all over the spectrum and have always placed Christ in the center. During one of the more recent lunches, a young man was asked what is stopping him from giving his life to Jesus. He said, “I just don’t know how.” Praise God we were able to talk to him, and he surrendered his life to Jesus right there in the Mexican restaurant!!! Other students want to be leaders and learn more about Jesus so they can share their faith with their families and classmates. This is what it’s all about!”

Teacher Highlight: Tina Perets
Why do you enjoy working at CCC?
I enjoy working at CCC because of Jesus. You may say "That's a Sunday School answer to everything" but really it's all that matters. To be able to talk about Jesus all the time, not just with my coworkers but with the kids too...Because sometimes, well actually most of the time, the questions that are asked by the kids can easily be answered because of God."
What is your favorite thing about teaching preschoolers?
My favorite thing is the relationship I have with the kids. Being able to joke around with them and seeing them grow throughout the year.
What is the most surprising thing that you've learned or skill you've developed while being a Lead PreK Teacher?
Comprehension. Not a word you would use everyday when you work with 4-5 year olds. And that's just it, they say if you fully understand something yourself you should be able to explain it to a 5 year old. And they are at that age where they are eager to learn and just like a sponge they absorb everything you say..."
TheHopeLine
"I like to think of TheHopeLine as a digital mission field. We get to reach the hurting as they chat in from all parts of the world, with the freedom to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a dream job!"

Partners Worldwide
As much as the Partners Worldwide network is about business, it’s always been more about the people making the business happen. And the Covid-19 pandemic brought out the very best of our global network of deeply committed partners.
Emboldened by widespread and often oppressive restrictions, our entrepreneurs, locally-led partners (LCIs), and volunteer Business Affiliates all began engaging in new and digital ways. They set up video calls, attended virtual trainings, and ventured into eCommerce. Pictures and stories began pouring in from all over the world!
“This pandemic has really hit our program,” says Dinesh from Kolkata, India (I’m not using my good friend’s real name to protect his identity). Dinesh had big plans for his ministry that helps those in poverty start a business, “…but everything changed,” he says. “There are around 4,000 slums—40% of the 15M population. You can imagine how difficult it became for people.”
For Dinesh, seeing this period of suffering was extremely difficult and heartbreaking. People couldn’t work. Migrant workers were trying to get home, walking far distances out of desperation. But the country was shut down, and many people died on the journey—even as they had kids with them.
Dinesh couldn’t help every person in need, but his goal was helping as many as possible—and he did. “We were able to help 1,200 families living in the slums, providing life-sustaining kits of food and other essentials,” he says.
Because of Dinesh’s heart and hard work, many lives were saved. But he is a serial entrepreneur and a multiplier of ideas and resources. He encouraged women to work making and distributing medical masks across the communities, creating hundreds of jobs and saving countless lives.
And in the devastating crisis he saw another big business opportunity. With the help of a loan from Partners Worldwide, he created a tailoring business for more women to make ladies nightwear—you see, all the wealthy families were in lockdown as well and couldn’t go shopping in the malls! The best performer increased her income six times and hired three additional women herself!
And then Dinesh launched a pig business, yes, agriculture value addition in the heart of the City of Joy. And a soccer club for young men. Dinesh’s spirit and love are infecting others. Hope is taking hold everywhere in these communities, replacing the fear that dominated only six months ago.
“God has been ever so good,” Dinesh says. “Business gives a vital platform to share the gospel. And we are so privileged to partner with Partners Worldwide.”
Despite all the challenges of 2020, our whole network is encouraging, equipping and connecting each other. When you donate and invest in our business ministry, you aren’t only helping us do our work. You’re helping us do God’s work—in the areas around the world that need it most.
P.S. The work we are called to do together is not for the faint-hearted. It draws us into deeper courage and nearer to God who gives us strength. Will you join us in our effort? To donate online, click here or to learn more about the Generosity Campaign, click here.
