About Bill Gassen

As President and CEO of Sanford Healthcare, Bill Gassen prioritizes patients, people, and communities. His approach to leadership is fueled by his faith, and he stays grounded in service. 

Gassen began his career as a lawyer, starting at a law firm and then moving to work in-house as corporate counsel at Sanford Health. Over time, his knack for leadership led to more leadership roles within the organization. Ultimately, Gassen took on the role of President & CEO of Sanford Health in November of 2020.

Beyond his significant work guiding Sanford Health, Gassen finds meaning in his roles as husband and father. His leadership style is guided by the knowledge that his Sanford team members also have a host of responsibilities waiting for them at home, and they need to be well cared for.
